About Groock's Gallery
Groock’s Gallery resides in a converted temple. A piece of digital archaeology as a site for cyber-mythological practice. The structure is an amalgamation of archetypical historical western and eastern design. The Gallery is believed to be run by aliens, or may in fact be an alien themself. An accelerated synthetic state of evolution, the gallery exists entirely in the digital world of cyberspace; its structure can be built upon and maintained by a single artist, whereas a structure of the physical world takes many artists and craftspeople to build and maintain.
A contemporary participatory mythology, its virtual horizons stretch to virtual infinity. It is an extremely fragile place, yet has the potential to spread like a virus. It could permeate the geodesic network, and as soon as it is beholden to a consciousness, the concept may begin to permeate the psyche. Reconciling binary qualities, from conscious to subconscious, virtual to physical, the gallery offers a space for dialogue between conflicting notions.
The Virtual Arcade
A commissioned build by Groock for a space arts, the Virtual Alfred Arcade (unlike the site upon which it is based), exists outside of time and within the infinite digital cybersphere.
This is a digitally rendered record of a space once occupied by several members of 'Just Three Boys in Kimonos'. Whilst still existing within the infinite realm of cyberspace, the original access site is no longer functional and all that remains by way of historical record is this video as an artifact. A dusty relic of an era long-forgotten.
